Prototype Zaurus SL-6000 reported on Zaurus User Group

The Zaurus User Group has posted a brief article by offroadgeek, showing pictures of a prototype Zaurus SL-6000 with suggestions that the real device will ship in January 2004. The device looks a lot like the SL-5500 and 5600 except that it’s mostly black and a little larger (the screen is apparently a 4″ screen compared to the 5600’s 3.7″ screen). The device has built -in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as well as a USB host socket. Check out the full article here. There’s no mention of the CPU but I think we can assume it’s a 400 MHz PXA255 chip.

The fact that the “new Zaurus” looks like the SL-5600 rather than the SL-C750 might be a big disappointment to Zaurus fans who were expecting something a little mode distinctive for the U.S. market. Anyway, I’m a big fan of the Zaurus range, so as soon as we can get our hands on one, expect an in-depth review!
