Intellisync Corporation, a leading developer and marketer of wireless software for the worldwide mobile communications industry, today announced a licensing agreement with Qool Labs. Through the agreement, Intellisync software will be bundled with a new Palm OS-based smartphone developed by Qool Labs — the QDA700 (PDA phone model) — enabling synchronization of calendar, contacts, tasks and notes between QDA700 and the Microsoft Outlook and Palm Desktop software applications.
The new, Intellisync-enabled smartphones will be sold to customers and licensed to other manufacturers in Asia, Europe and other parts of the world.
“The Asian and European mobility markets are experiencing rapid growth across a wide range of markets,” said Mr. KH Lim, CEO for Qool Labs. “We are committed to delivering a complete mobility solution that addresses the demands of mobile users around the globe. Synchronization is a top requirement for maximizing mobility for our customers, which is why we selected Intellisync’s award-winning technology to deliver this vital capability for our QDA700. Intellisync will help ensure that our customers stay up-to-the- minute while away from the office.”
To provide Chinese-language markets with synchronization software for QDA700 smartphone, a key requirement was wireless software that enabled Chinese character functionality. Intellisync easily delivered both simplified and traditional Chinese languages, so that buyers of QDA700 will have the option of purchasing Chinese-language versions of Intellisync that provide additional functionality, including support of more PC applications.
“Our agreement with Qool Labs further illustrates Intellisync’s leadership in delivering wireless application and synchronization software for a wide range of mobile devices, platforms and languages,” said Intellisync Chief Operating Officer Clyde Foster. “We look forward to working with Qool Labs to increase the adoption of their devices and our mobility technology throughout Asia, Europe and other parts of the globe.”
