Early last month, Celio announced that it expects to bring support for the Redfly Mobile Companion to two new platforms in 30-60 days. As 30 days have now passed, these announcements should be coming soon.

Currently, the Redfly Mobile Companion only works with Windows Mobile devices, but Celio is hard at work adding support for BlackBerry and Google’s Android.

Colin Kelly, Marketing Communications Manager at Celio, said, “Although both Android and BlackBerry are pretty far along in the development cycle, you’ll most likely see BlackBerry get released first.”

More About the Redfly
The Redfly is a laptop-shaped device that can be used to give a smartphone a larger display, full keyboard, mouse, and USB ports. Essentially, it turns a smartphone into a netbook.

There are two versions:

  • The Redfly C8N has an 8-inch display and a media port. It sells for $250.
  • The Redfly C7, which has a 7-inch screen, is selling for $200.

Both Redfly models can be found on Celio’s website
