Release Date for the Motorola Atrix 4G Leaks Out

Although AT&T took the wraps off the Motorola Atrix 4G at CES last week, the carrier has yet to announce a release date for this innovative Android OS device. A document leaking out of AT&T reveals when it’s going to debut, however.

Motorola ATRIX 4G from AT&TThe Atrix 4G will break new ground, as this smartphone will also be able to function as either a netbook or a simple desktop thanks to a pair of accessories.

AT&T says this model is going to be available in the first quarter of this year, but a leaked document says that target date is now March 1.

The price for this device and its accessories is not yet known.

Motorola Atrix 4G Overview
When functioning on its own, the Atrix 4G will have a tablet shape and a qHD (960 x 540) touchscreen. It is going to run Android OS 2.2 on a 1 GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, and have 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, and a microSD/HC memory card slot.

Motorola Atrix 4G Hands-On PreviewWhen it is placed into either a laptop or desktop dock, it will switch to a version of Linux that offers a full desktop version of the Firefox web browser.

The laptop dock will offer an 11-inch display and keyboard, while the desktop dock will have three USB ports for a keyboard and mouse, as well as an HD video-out port.
