Sad to see because I really liked the concept of what they were doing. However, the time I tried their service for the Palm, I found the performance to be lacking and the size of the files and therefore install speed, to be painfully bad.
They tried to make a name for themselves by distributing video content, but the library never really took off. It seems the whole concept became a catch 22 of sorts, they couldn’t afford good content without subscriptions, and people wouldn’t sign up without good content. It appears Mazingo is just another example of a good idea without proper funding.
From their site:
Mazingo would like to thank everyone who has been involved with developing and using the Mazingo service. Regrettably, the service can no longer be offered due to the cost of content versus the revenue derived. If you are interested in licensing the software for your own use, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
