T-Mobile customers may still have a little longer to wait before they see the carrier-exclusive Nokia Lumia 925 and the Sony Xperia Z launch on their network, with recently leaked information indicating that the handsets won’t be launching on T-Mobile until July 17.
The Windows Phone 8-based Lumia 925 went on sale earlier this month in Germany and, at the time, Nokia and T-Mobile neglected to say when exactly it would hit other markets. The Xperia, meanwhile, has been available in Japan and the UK for months, while the only option for US customers has been to pick up an unlocked version. Though the July date has yet to be set in stone, TmoNews leaked a roadmap indicating that July 17 would be the launch date for the Lumia 925, the Xperia Z, and another unnamed (likely budget) handset.
The Lumia 925 is expected to be priced at either $579 total or $100 upfront with $20 monthly payments for 24 months. Pricing for the Xperia Z, however, is currently unknown.
The Lumia 925 will feature a build that is a mixture of metal (aluminum) parts and a polycarbonate back, while its internals are relatively similar to other carrier variations like the Lumia 920 or 928. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, comes with 16GB of storage, and has 1GB of RAM. The Xperia Z’s specs are well known at this point, but for more information about the handset, head over to our full review.
