Samsung Captivate and Fascinate, BlackBerry Curve 3G Free Until Tomorrow

The retailer Best Buy is announcing the return of “Free Phone Friday”, with a sale on Verizon’s Samsung Fascinate, AT&T’s Samsung Captivate, and Sprint’s BlackBerry Curve 3G. The retailer is also extending the sale an extra day.

Samsung Captivate from AT&TFrom now through tomorrow, all three of these smartphones are available with no money down. A new or renewed two-year contract with the applicable carrier is required, however.

Despite their differing names, the Samsung Captivate and Fascinate are actually two versions of the same device, the Galaxy S. As such, both running Google’s Android OS 2.2 (Froyo) on a 1GHz processor and have a WVGA (800 x 480) Super AMOLED display and 16 GB of storage. AT&T normally sells the Captivate for 100 with contract, the same Verizon is asking for the Fascinate.

The BlackBerry Curve 3G is a consumer-oriented smartphone that has a 320 by 240 (QVGA) display and a QWERTY keyboard. Sprint’s version of this device is still running BlackBerry OS 5, but an upgrade to OS 6 has been promised. It regularly costs $50 with contract.

The zero-down deal on all three of these models is available at Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores, as well as online at The companies warns that not all of its brick-and-mortar stores will have all of these in stock.
