The hotly-anticipated Samsung Epic 4G is set to debut next week, and those who want to be among the first to get this Android OS smartphone can place a pre-order now.

There has been quite a bit of pre-release interest shown in this model, which will offer WiMAX, a 1 GHz processor, a large Super AMOLED touchscreen, and dual cameras.

Sprint has stopped taking reservations for the Epic 4G, and many online retailers like Amazon.co have yet to begin selling it, but Wirefly.com is taking pre-orders.

Sprint is asking $250 with a two-year contract for this model, but the Wirefly.com price is $240 with contract. It is $600 without a contract.

The Epic 4G will be available a week from today, on Tuesday, August 31.
