Samsung Fascinate and HTC Droid Incredible Get Big Price Cuts

Verizon has cut the price of the Samsung Fascinate in half, and has also dropped the HTC Droid Incredible and Motorola Droid R2-D2 down below $100. These price cuts might be temporary, though.

Samsung Fascinate from Verizon WirelessThese three Android OS models all debuted last spring or summer, and the HTC and Samsung models have sold especially well.

The Fascinate debuted at $200 with a two-year contract, but is now going for $100 on Verizon’s website.

The Droid Incredible also once sold for $200, but can also be purchased for $100.

At one point, the Droid R2-D2 was $250 with contract, but is now selling for the same price as the other two models.

Verizon is kicking off its “10 days of sweet deals” promotion today to celebrate its impending launch of the iPhone 4, so it’s possible all of these prices will only be available until Feb. 10.

This model has a tablet shape with a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen.

The Samsung Fascinate is still running  Google’s Android OS 2.1, but an upgrade to version 2.2 is in development. It includes 2 GB of internal storage and is bundled with a 16 GB microSD memory card.

HTC Droid Incredible from VerizonThis Samsung device supports Verizon’s 3G network and includes Wi-Fi b/g/n. It is also able to combine these functions and act as a Wi-Fi hotspot to share its Internet connection with other computers.

The Fascinate sports a 5.0-megapixel camera with auto-focus and an LED flash. This supports HD (720p) video recording and playback.

This smartphone has a tablet shape designed around a 3.7-inch WVGA (480 x 800) touchscreen.

The HTC Droid Incredible runs Google’s Android OS 2.2 on a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. HTC’s Sense user interface is layered on top.

Motorola Droid 2, R2-D2 EditionIt also has 8 GB of internal storage, a microSD memory card slot, a GPS receiver, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and support for Verizon’s 3G mobile broadband network.

This device is a special edition of the Motorola Droid 2. As such, it is a slider with a 3.7-inch WVGA display and a landscape-oriented keyboard, but with a special outer casing to make it look like the lovable astromech from the Star Wars movies.

Because it has Android OS 2.2, and can connect to Verizon’s 3G (EV-DO Rev. A) network. This device also includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The Droid R2-D2 has a 5 megapixel camera with a flash, 8 GB of on-board storage as well as an 8 GB microSD/SDHC memory card.
