After numerous leaks and rumors, Samsung on Wednesday officially unveiled the ruggedized Galaxy S IV Active, the latest addition to its growing line of Galaxy S IV handsets. The Galaxy S IV Active will boast impressive durability with water and dust resistances, and the ability to be submerged in three feet of water for half-hour and emerge unscathed.
The handset will offer a 5-inch Full HD TFT LCD display with a 1920 x 1080p resolution and 443 ppi. The device will also run Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) and will be powered by a 1.9 GHz quad-core processor and 2,600mAh battery. The new rugged handset will also offer an 8MP rear-facing camera.
The new Galaxy S IV Active will launch this summer in the United States and Europe and will be available in three color options; Urban Grey, Dive Blue, and Orange Flare. Samsung will likely offer more details on this device at is upcoming event later this month on June 20.
