According to a report from BGR, the Galaxy Note III is reported to feature a shatter-proof OLED display made of flexible glass. This would be a departure from the Gorilla Glass display Samsung typically uses on its mobile devices. It’s also been reported the company will replace its standard plastic cases with a premium material.
The plastic OLED panel is touted to be more durable than the Gorilla Glass display and will help make the device thinner. The Galaxy Note III is reported to be 8 millimeters thick, down from the 9.4 millimeter thickness of the Galaxy Note II.
Additionally, rumors have said that shipping of Samsung devices with the OLED flexible plastic displays will be delayed until late 2014. The Galaxy Note III is expected to launch of the fourth quarter of 2013.
