With Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S IV phone still barely out the door, the company has announced a set of software updates for the Galaxy S3.

The update to the previous Galaxy model, which is set to begin rolling out soon, will bring with it a host of new features. Users will see Multi Window functionality for multi-tasking with multiple apps at once, direct carrier billing for Google Play, and Flipboard pre-installed.

Galaxy S III users will also be able to access the phone screen without unlocking the handset using a Bluetooth headset, access Wi-Fi with multiple devices when in HotSpot mode, and arrange apps in order of frequency of use.

When it comes to photos, the software update provides a range of new features, including the ability to categorize and display content in Samsung Gallery; tag weather, people and place information in photos and videos; automatically pick the best shot from a group of images with the “Best Shot” feature; save MMS attachments; and create image styles using the “Paper Artist” tool.

Users can also easily share content with new ways to customize folders; S Beam’s “Auto Share” shot to sync two devices; and the Samsung Smart Switch tool to transfer content between devices.
