U.S. owners of the Samsung Galaxy S III have been given a little glimpse of hope for when they will get a taste of Android 4.1 “Jelly Bean”. Samsung has posted a list of devices set to receive the upgrade, and its latest flagship smartphone figures prominently on it.

Samsung Galaxy S IIIStill not offering a specific roll out date, Samsung is keeping the suspense strong for Galaxy S III users in the U.S. While international owners of the smartphone started seeing the new interface a few weeks ago, with the update hitting Poland first, Sammy promised that it will eventually bring Google’s next-generation OS to users around the world.

The Korean company didn’t offer a schedule for the roll out, simply saying Android 4.1 upgrades will “vary by market and wireless carriers requirements.” Yet, today Galaxy S III owners were thrown a bone with the post stating that Android 4.1 will be “coming soon” to AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular. Meaning no one will be left out.

U.S. carriers always test an operating system update extensively before distributing it to their users, making the process slower in this country.

With highlights of Android 4.1 including Google Now, a redesigned Notification system and a more interactive interface, Android 4.1 will likely be worth the wait!
