Samsung SCH-i730 Officially Announced and Available on Verizon

The Samsung SCH-i730 is Samsung’s first Pocket PC phone with EV-DO high-speed data access, built-in sliding keyboard and 802.11b wi-fi + Bluetooth included.  There have been rumors Verizon would be rolling this Pocket PC Phone out onto their network, and those plans are confirmed with this mornings announcement.

The i730 is available starting today for “large account” customers, meaning you need to belong to a big business ready to order a bunch of units for your mobile workforce if you want this now.  Fear not though, July 7 is the release date to the regular old consumer types (no matter what you’re doing in life).  Following are the rather impressive specs on this device:

  • 64MB RAM/128MB Flash
  • SD card memory / accessory expansion
  • Built-in Bluetooth
  • Built-in Wi-Fi 802.11b
