Samsung To Fix AT&T’s Captivate and T-Mobile’s Vibrant GPS Problem Next Month

Samsung has promised to deal with a bug in its most recent Android OS smartphones. The problems the Samsung Captivate and Samsung Vibrant have with their GPS receivers will be fixed in September.

Samsung Captivate from AT&TThe company admitted earlier this month that the U.S. models in the Galaxy S series have problems getting a GPS fix. The issues are apparently straight-forward: in some situations, these devices are unable to determine their location.

Samsung issued an update on this issue via Twitter:

“Samsung is testing software to optimize GPS on Galaxy S phones. Look for updates on September.”

AT&T’s Captivate and T-Mobile’s Vibrant are the two versions of the Galaxy S that have been released so far in the U.S., but Sprint and Verizon are prepping their own versions.
