Socket is planning to show several new products at the CeBIT 2004 show in Hanover, Germany next week.
The Socket Cordless Serial Adapter will help eliminate the need for conventional RS-232 cables, enabling easier connections between devices. It will communicate with another Cordless Serial Adapter or any other Bluetooth-enabled device.
The Socket Cordless Hand Scanner will be a laser bar code scanner designed to work with Palm OS, Pocket PC, Windows XP Tablet PCs, and Symbian OS devices with Bluetooth.
The Socket Cordless 56K Modem with Bluetooth will be the first battery-powered modem to connect to wireless devices via Bluetooth. It will have a range of up to 100 meters and a removable Lithium-ion battery.
It is expected to work with any Bluetooth mobile device that supports DUN, such as Pocket PCs, Palm OS devices, and Windows laptops. This product was first announced in January and should be released soon.
Socket is also expected to show a variety of Secure Digital accessories, including bar code scanning cards, low power wireless LAN cards, and Bluetooth connection kits.
