Sony Ericsson has announced the Bluetooth Media Viewer MMV-100. The device plugs into a TV or digital projector and receives images and AMR or MP3 audio sent from a wireless phone via Bluetooth.

The Media Viewer can be used as a way to share images with families and friends or as a lightweight business accessory for slide shows. Images and audio are transferred from the phone by a single touch on the phone’s keypad.

The Media Viewer is capable of receiving images from many different phones at once and is not limited to “one to one” pairing.

Supported phones from Sony Ericsson include the P800, P900, T610/616, T630, and T68i, plus the just-announced K700 and S700.

The MMV-100 supports several Bluetooth profiles, including File Transfer Protocol, Object Push Profile, and Basic Imaging Profile.

The Bluetooth Media Viewer connects to TVs and projectors through the SCART or stereo audio/video RCA cable and models are planned for PAL and NTSC formats.

The MMV-100 is expected to be available in the second quarter of this year. For more information, visit the Sony Ericsson web site.
