Sprint Isn’t Done With BlackBerry in 2013, Says Exec
According to Sprint Nextel, there’s more BlackBerry 10 goodness on the way. The company announced on Tuesday that it plans on releasing another Blackberry handset later this year after the Q10 launches.
Sprint plans to launch the QWERTY keyboard enabled BlackBerry Q10 later this summer, though it did opt to pass on the high-end BlackBerry Z10, BlackBerry’s first BB10 device. Now the company has teased its plans to release an additional BlackBerry device by the end of the year, though Sprint has yet to reveal any substantive details.
“We’re not done with BlackBerry,” said Lois Eichelberger Fagan, director of product porfolio for Sprint Nextel in an interview with CNET. “There’s more to come.”
CEO Thorsten Heins told CNET that he was excited for another flagship phone roughly slated for a holiday release. However, Sprint could also be referencing its intentions to release the BlackBerry Q5, which BlackBerry recently unveiled at its BlackBerry Live event and will not be released in the United States.
