When Sprint introduced the Samsung Galaxy Nexus as the Consumer Electronics Show in January, rumors were popping up everywhere about the release date for the LTE-enabled smartphone. If the latest reports are true, then the Nexus will be launching from Sprint pretty soon.
April 15 is the date that sources say the Galaxy Nexus will be released on Sprint. S4GRU.com received word from a source from within this wireless carrier’s Product Development division who leaked the expected release date. April 15 is a Sunday, which coincidentally is when Sprint typically releases its products.
In addition, Sprint has a Galaxy Nexus contest that ends on April 14, and is also running several promotions on WiMax devices that end on April 14 as well. Because both of these events are ending on the same day, most sources close to Sprint have assumed that the Galaxy Nexus will launch very shortly thereafter.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus debuted from Verizon in December 2011, and Sprint will be the second carrier in the U.S. to sell the device. The Nexus sports a 4.65-inch, 1280 x 720 Super AMOLED display that has a slight curve. It also has a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, with 1GB of RAM. Sprint’s version will have 32GB of internal storage.
