Sprint is now offering a $200 rebate off the cost of the Treo 300. This is only for new users of Sprint’s wireless service, though. This smartphone typically sells for $500.
However, this is not a cash rebate. Those who qualify will receive a $200 credit on their first phone bill. Any unused credit will roll over to the following month until the $200 credit is used up.
This offer is good until June 29. The company previously offered a similar $50 rebate but this expired at the end of March.
The end of this rebate may be timed to coincide with the release of a new Handspring model. The company reportedly is working on a new smartphone that will be a major redesign. It’s currently scheduled to be released this summer.
$150 Rebate from Amazon
Amazon is offering an additional $150 mail-in rebate on the Treo 300. Unlike the rebate from Sprint, this one is for cash but is also only for people who start a new wireless service plan. In combination, these rebates bring the cost of the Treo 300 down to just $150.
This offer expires April 9.
