Sprint Vital On Monday Sprint announced its newest affordable handset, the Vital. The new Android smartphone is set to release later this week and will offer reasonable specs given its $100 price point.

The Sprint Vital will offer a break-resistant, 5-inch 1280 x 720 IPS display and will be powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor, 1 GB of RAM, and a 2,500 mAh battery. The device will be built on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) and will be compatible with Sprint’s 4G LTE network.

The Sprint Vital will also be environmentally conscious, as the device received the Underwriters Laboratory Environment (ULE) Platinum Certification, which is the highest level of performance recognized by sustainable requirements established by the ULE and Sprint. Even the packaging is 98 percent recyclable.

Sprint’s newest handset is set to go on sale starting this Friday (June 14) and will be available starting at $100 with two-year contract and a $50 mail-in rebate.
