On Thursday, Sprint began rolling out a Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for Samsung Galaxy Victory customers. The update also offers a number of new features for the 4G LTE-enabled handset aside from those provided in Jelly Bean.
The Jelly Bean upgrade adds features that include real time information tracking with Google Now; expandable and actionable notifications; photo sharing with Android Beam; and widgets that automatically move and resize to adjust to the user’s screen size.
Other capabilities added to the Galaxy Victory include Swype, text-to-speech functionality (US English only), and voice typing functionality without the need of an internet connection.
Also through the update, notifications will display full text and photos and will be grouped together, Users will be able to simply pinch notifications to expand or collapse them.
Users will also be able to manage/create Google+ events from their devices, and Google Maps will offer a few new capabilities such as built in Zagat ratings and indoor directions.
How to Download
The Android update will automatically download when the Galaxy Victory is eligible. After the download is complete, users will be prompted to install the update. The update takes a few minutes to install, but the device should be ready for use immediately after the install.
