Avvenu, Inc.has started a semi-open beta program of its Avvenu Music Player for Windows Mobile 5, which allows users to listen to their iTunes library wherever they are by streaming music directly to a compatible smartphone.
This a web-based service that allows users to both listen to and share up to 250 songs. It supports playlists, artist names, album names, song names and musical genres.
The Avvenu Music Player doesn’t require the user’s PC to be turned on, and songs can be in MP3, AAC, or WMA format.
The currently available version of this application is a beta. As Avvenu warns, "Please expect some unstable behavior, including songs not playing and application crashes."
Those who are interested in applying to be part of the beta program should visit getit.avvenu.com. There is no charge for being a part of the beta program, but the company would appreciate feedback from users.
