T-Mobile has just begun offering the Nokia Astound. This consumer-oriented Symbian^3 smartphone sports a high-resolution 8 megapixel camera, 8GB of storage, and a touchscreen, but sells for just $80 with contract.
Today is the debut of the Astound, but this is not exactly a new model, as it’s the American version of the Nokia C7.
Like all Symbian-powered devices, it comes with a very capable web browser and email software, as well as music and video players.
The Astound offers a 3.5-inch, nHD (640 x 360) capacitive AM-OLED Touchscreen set in a bar shape.
Its signature feature is an 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash. This is capable of 720p HD video capture. In addition, it has a front-facing camera for video conferencing.
This smartphone can connect to T-Mobile’s 3G network, plus it has Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as a GPS receiver.
Also on the Astound’s specs list is an FM tuner and a 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery.
