T-Mobile Chief Marketing Operator Mike Sievert told AllThingsD that while the carrier is optimizing the upcoming Google handset for its 4G LTE network, the carrier currently has no plans to stock the Moto X in its stores in the immediate future. Rather, T-Mobile’s version of the device will only be available through Motorola for now.
That’s not to say however, that T-Mobile won’t stock the Moto X in its retailers at some point. Sievert noted that if the company does decide to offer the Google’s flagship handset the announcement will come later down the line.
With T-Mobile offering the handset directly through Motorola, it raises the question of how payment will work. At this moment it remains unclear if Motorola will offer “Uncarrier”-style down payments instead of asking consumers to pay in full. Regardless, T-Mobile consumers who want to get their hands on the Moto X may have their work cut out for them.
