The day T-Mobile customers have been waiting for is inching closer: T-Mobile has started taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5.
The smartphone will be in the hands of consumers on April 12, but those itching to get it even a few minutes earlier than their neighbors, can pre-order the device now on the T-Mobile website.
At an event last month, T-Mobile announced it is ditching contracts and subsidies, meaning the iPhone 5 is priced at $580 on the network, but users don’t have to sign a two-year commitment.
Users can put $100 down on the device and enter into a monthly payment plan with T-Mobile where $20 will be added to their monthly bill for 24 months until the device is paid off.
For customers who want to go a little old school and save some money, T-Mobile will also be offering the iPhone 4S for $70 down and $20 a month for 24 months for a total of $550 dollars, and the iPhone 4 for nothing down and 24 monthly payments of $15 ($375).
The iPhone 5 will run on T-Mobile’s 4G HSPA+ network, and for those in areas where the company has already launched its 4G LTE network, the phone will be able to connect there as well. T-Mobile is the last of the major U.S. wireless carriers to offer the iPhone.
