T-Mobile Pushes WiFi Hotspots Harder – Step One – Reduce Price

by Reads (4,190)

WiFi hotspots are a major mobility hot-button these days. We’re a society on the go who need fast access to information. T-Mobile is expanding their reach by offering more WiFi hotspots at a reduced rate.

As you may know, T-Mobile has 2,238 WiFi hotspots across the country. Many of them are located in hotels, airports and little coffee shops and book sellers you might have heard of, like Starbucksand Borders. Today they announced new rate plans geared towards increasing their subscriber base. Hopefully as subscriber count climbs, the number of Hotspots will rise making availability an expectation, not a hope.

“For $29.99 a month, customers get unlimited access, with an annual agreement, to the T-Mobile HotSpot service at more than 2,100 locations nationwide including Starbucks coffee houses, national and regional airports and American Airlines Admirals clubs. The service will also be available in new locations as they are deployed, including airports, Borders Books and Music, and United and Delta Air Lines clubs and lounges.”

It’s such a smart idea for them to pull all of these popular areas together. Bookstores, hotels, coffee shops and airports have developed into the most popular places to get work done, outside of the office that is. The key is being able to take a single account with you, which is what T-Mobile brings to the table. Oh yeah, they also have the largest network by far, making them the preeminent leader in wireless by offering the most comprehensive data and voice offerings in the US.

More info on availability and pricing is available at the T-Mobile Hotspots site.
