T-Mobile customers can start off their spring by purchasing the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G later next week.
T-Mobile announced that on March 21, customers can purchase the smartphone at any T-Mobile store for $150 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new two-year contract. Those looking to get the phone online will have a chance to buy the handset on March 28.
Users of the device will be able to take advantage of T-Mobile’s 4G (HSPA+42) network. The handset will have a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor while running Android OS 2.3. The Galaxy S Blaze 4G will sport a 3.97-inch Super AMOLED touch screen, and will also feature a 5MP rear-facing camera that can shoot video at 720p HD, as well as a 1.3MP front-facing one.
The smartphone will also offer a variety of multimedia features including Netflix and Samsung Media Hub, as well as TeleNav GPS Navigator and a customized Yelp mobile application. The handset will only be released in a carbon black color.
The Galaxy S Blaze 4G appears to have been released to give shoppers a less expensive, scaled-back device that’s still somewhat similar to the Samsung Galaxy S II. The upcoming model will have a smaller display and a lower-resolution camera, but will still have many of the other features of the more expensive device.
