According to unconfirmed reports, T-Mobile USA will announce tomorrow its plans to unroll 3G services.
Citing only “parties familiar with the company’s plans”, eWeek saying that T-Mobile will unveil on Friday what it intends to do with the portion of the U.S. spectrum it recently paid so much for.
Reportedly, this carrier will announce that it will add UMTS support to its wireless network.
Although T-Mobile USA will supposedly be using a wireless networking standard that has been widely implemented in Europe, that doesn’t mean this company’s upcoming devices will compatible with their European counterparts.
Because the areas of the wireless spectrum countries have allocated for cellular wireless technologies aren’t the same, devices designed to work with T-Mobile USA’s version of UMTS won’t be compatible with the version of this wireless technology being used in Europe.
