Telenav Releases Scout GPS App for Windows Phone 8

Scout Windows PhoneWindows Phone 8 users looking for a more advanced GPS service can now count Telenav’s Scout application among the viable options. The company released its app to Microsoft’s Windows Phone Marketplace on Friday.

Scout for Windows Phone 8 is compatible with all Windows Phone 8 devices.  The app offers a wealth of information, including real-time traffic flows and estimated times of arrivals (ETAs), along with up to three traffic-optimized routes for reaching destinations as efficiently as possible. Features include My Dashboard, which displays the user’s location, commute times, and nearby places all via the app’s home screen.

Users looking for more functionality can opt in for Scout Plus for $24.99 a year or $4.99 per month. Scout Plus adds voice guidance, traffic alerts and flows, red-light camera alerts, and voice commands. The app is available for download now in Windows Phone Marketplace.
