One of the biggest problems with wireless services on the Treo or other Palm device, is not knowing how much data has been transfered. With most mobile plans, users are billed on the megabyte. TrafficStat helps keep tabs on data transfers.
I’m dissapointed that a tool of this nature did not ship with wireless enabled devices. Hexlet has resolved the problem though with their latest effort.
Until cell phone carriers move to unlimited data transfer models, you really need something like this. Guessing at data transfer can lead to a major shock when you get the bill at the end of the month. Just because the pages look small on your screen, doesn’t mean anything when you consider how many bytes get moved about.
I think this looks like a great app, but have not been able to test it as it does not yet support Palm OS 5. You can however, pick up a free trial here. The full version only costs $9.95, which seems like a good investment.
Please post your thoughts if you give this a try.
