Last week, Palm, Inc. and Verizon Wireless began offering the Messaging & Security Feature Pack (MSFP) client for the Treo 700w. This application has since been removed from Palm’s web site.
The long-awaited MSFP lets companies deliver ‘push’ email to their employees using Treo 700w smartphones.
At this point, Palm hasn’t given a reason why this software has been removed from its site. The web page where it it was posted last week now just says, “Temporarily unavailable. We anticipate that the Treo 700w updater will be available at a later date. If you have already installed the updater, please disregard this message.”
Brighthand is attempting to contact Palm spokespeople to get more information.
Update: An explanation of why Palm pulled this important software update can be found in this article.
