Treo 700wx Comes to Alltel

A mid-tier U.S. carrier, Alltel Wireless, in now offering the Palm Treo 700wx.

This Windows Mobile based device first debuted a few months ago, and since then numerous carriers around the world have begun offering it.

Pricing starts are starting at $350 after a $100 rebate. This discounted cost is available to new customers on two-year service agreements as well as to existing eligible customers on qualifying rate plans.

Treo 700wx is one of Palm’s first generation of Windows Mobile Pocket PC phones

Is is an updated version of the Treo 700w, a device that Verizon Wireless has been offering since the beginning of this year. The biggest improvement in the new version of this smartphone is an increase in the amount of RAM. Aside from this, though, this Treo greatly resembles its predecessor. This means it has a 240-by-240-pixel touchscreen above a QWERTY keyboard.

The 700wx runs Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC on a 312 MHz processor. It includes 128 MB of built-in, non-volatile storage — about 60 MB of which is user accessible — and a slot for removable SD memory cards.

This CDMA phone supports high-speed EV-DO networks and includes Bluetooth 1.2
