Palm has introduced one of its Windows Mobile-based Treos in an additional country. This smartphone is now available from Bell Canada.
The Treo 700w was introduced in the United States earlier this year, and the upgraded version — the Treo 700wx — debuted only last month.
This smartphone offers support for Bell Canada’s high-speed EV-DO network, and it can be used as a wireless modem for another device, like a laptop.
It comes with Microsoft’s Push email system pre-installed.
The Treo 700wx is available now for $400 with a three-year contract, or $600 with no contract.
More About the Treo 700wx
This Treo greatly resembles its Windows Mobile-based predecessor. This means it has a 240-by-240-pixel touchscreen above a QWERTY keyboard.
The 700wx runs Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC on a 312 MHz processor. It includes 128 MB of built-in, non-volatile storage — about 60 MB of which is user accessible — and a slot for removable SD memory cards.
This CDMA phone also offers a 1.3-megapixel camera and Bluetooth 1.2.
More information on this device is available from Palm’s web site.
