After appearing to shelve the Palm Oslo, it now looks that Palm has plans to release two new PDA’s. One not-so-sexy entry-level PDA and one on the high-end featuring the new Palm OS 5.
Palm Tungsten T
The Tungstem T is the high-end device and will be the first to feature Palm’s new OS 5. Release could come as early as October. Normal features include an SD slot and color screen, but Palm has finally listened to the demands of the business user, integrating Bluetooth in this unit.
The low-end device, said to be around $100, will also be released in October. It will feature Palm OS 4.1, 2MB of memory and no SD slot. I really don’t see the point, but there must be a markete for this kind of device. Save up a little more and buy a Sony Clie SL10…better value in my book.
This is the name for a third Palm device that we have no specs for. We only know that it may be in production because Palm registered the name at the same time as the other two. Palm has also indicated that three new devices will be released this year. We’ll just have to wait to learn more.
