Although SD card ports are common on handhelds, they have never become standard equipment on laptops or PCs. USB Memory card readers do allow users to transfer data to and from an SD card from a computer, but carrying around the reader can be a hassle. A new memory card makes this easier.
A Taiwanese company called Digimaster has come up with the Double Card, an SD card that can be plugged directly into a USB 2.0 port.
While this saves the inconvenience of having to carry around a USB card reader, this card can’t fit entirely inside the SD slot on the handheld.
According to Everything USB, the Double Card is initially going to be released in Taiwan, where a 128 MB version will sell for TND$880 (about $27) and a 256 MB version will cost $1280 (about $40).
It isn’t known if this product will be available in other countries.
