Danger Hiptop is due out in 2 weeks
Word is that T-Mobile (aka Voicestream) will begin selling the Danger Hiptop for $200 in the next two weeks. The Hiptop is supposed to be the next generate Blackberry killer that will enable always on email and limited Web connectivity. There’s been a lot of anticipation for this device, as the price point breaks down a number of the barriers. You’ll still have to pony up the dollars for service, ranging from $20-$40 per month.
After negotiations fell apart weeks ago for the manufacture of a Dell PDA, thaings are now looking up for the Texas-based company. A Taiwanese manufacturer, Wistron (spun off from Acer), has been contracted to product 1.5 million of these new devices for Dell. All we know is that the device is color, rund PPC and will sell for $299. Bad news for HP…Voicestream is selling the T1 PPC Phone Edition
