Better late than never appears to be Verizon’s approach, as the HTC One’s long-awaited arrival on the network seems to be imminent. The news comes from the carrier itself, which released an official teaser for the handset today that hints at a September 5 release.
The Verizon teaser marks the third reported release date for the HTC One on Big Red’s carrier, though this news offers a far greater deal of credibility coming directly from the carrier. The released image depicts the front and back of a Verizon edition HTC One, where the September 5 date is clearly visible on the top left-hand corner of the smartphone’s display. Granted, Verizon hasn’t exactly stipulated what will happen on September 5; the carrier could announce, for example, that the handset is available for online pre-orders instead of actually launching the device at that time.
Unfortunately the teaser gives no indication if the carrier will offer a unique blue variant of the device, as indicated in earlier reports. It’s been a long arduous wait for Verizon consumers hoping to get their hands on the HTC One, so the real question is: will the flagship handset still offer the same allure that it once did, now months after it was initially released?
