PalmGear has announced the winners of its Consumer’s Choice Awards, based on the results of voting by Palm User Groups (PUGs) around the country and by direct consumer voting in industry forums.
Seven awards were presented, with Handmark recieving the Legend Award for their contributions to the Palm OS community as a whole. Astraware was named Developer of the Year for their attention to product development, frequent updates, and customer service. Snapperfish, the company that created the SnapperMail wireless email application for Palm OS devices, was named the Best New Developer of the Year.
Other winners include Quickoffice from Mobility Electronics, which was recognized as the Best Overall Application, and AcidImage from Red Mercury, which was presented with the award for Best Use of Technology. Astraware won a second award for Best Use of Graphics in their Dynomite game. Finally, SlideFree from PocketScience was recognized as the Best New Concept.
The winners will be presented with marble and glass trophies to commemorate their achievements, and will also be given additional promotion on the PalmGear site and special recognition as Consumer’s Choice Award winners. For more information, please visit the PalmGear web site.
