Winners of the Second Android Developer Challenge Announced

Google has announced the applications that won its second Android Developer Challenge. This was a contest held to encourage the development apps for this company’s mobile operating system.

The winners were judged b  thousands of Android users around the world and an official panel of judges.

The overall winners are:

  • SweetDreams
    SweetDreams is a tool that will allows users to go to sleep without worrying about changing their phone settings in order to avoid unwelcome late night calls. These inactivity periods can also be used to save battery power as well
  • What the Doodle!?
    ‘WTD!?’ is a real-time online multi-player game where one player tries to draw out a given phrase and others try to guess it. Features FFA and Team games, Global Highscores, Personal Face Doodles, integrated Voice Recognition and more
  • WaveSecure
    WaveSecure is a complete mobile security solution that protects the phone data and privacy. It can be used to track the phone’s location and who is using it and lock down the device remotely, making it worthless to the thief. WaveSecure can also back up all the data on the smartphone, wipe out this data remotely, or . restore the data

  • Media:
    Buzz Deck, SPB TV, FxCamera
  • Productivity/Tools:
    WaveSecure, Hoccer, Tasker
  • Social Networking:
    Ce:real – Everyday trends, SocialMuse, SpotMessage
  • Travel:
    Trip Journal, iNap: Arrival Alert, Car Locator
  • Misc.:
    Rhythm Guitar, Andrometer, Calton Hill GPSCaddy
