Applian Technologies has released WM Recorder, a Windows desktop application that captures streaming audio and video content in Windows Media format for playback on a Pocket PC device.
The application allows users to record any video or audio content that is not protected by Digital Rights Management, allowing the user to capture music, videos, corporate webcasts, sports highlights, and some subscription-based services. The content is saved as *.ASF files on the desktop PC and can be transferred to and played on any Pocket PC device that has Windows Media Player installed.
Windows 98 or later and Windows Media Player 7 or later are required on the desktop computer. A free demo of WM Recorder is available that allows users to test the application but limits recording to two minutes. A full license can be purchased for $29.95. For more information, a demo, or online purchase, visit the Applian Technologies web site.
