Enfora has added the PalmOne Zire 72 to the list of handhelds that it offers a Wireless Portfolio for. This is a leather case with integrated battery and Wi-Fi (802.11b) wireless networking.

In addition to offering high-speed wireless networking, this product includes a self-contained, long-life battery, and the capability of simultaneously charging both the portfolio and the handheld through the standard palmOne-supplied charger.

Enfora has already released versions of this case that work with devices that use the Palm Universal Connector, and also the Tungsten E.

This latest version of the Wireless Portfolio has been designed to connect to a Tungsten E or Zire 72 through their Mini-USB ports. This leaves the SD slot available so it can be used for Storage of photos, music, applications, etc.

The portfolio itself, which zips closed, provides added protection for the handheld against accidental drops. It also includes slots for business cards, student ID cards, SD cards, and credit cards.

“Enfora is pleased to offer the only available Wi-Fi solution for the palmOne Tungsten E and a new alternative for Zire 72 users”, said Christian Allred, Enfora’s Vice President of Sales (Americas). “Our goal is to offer education, health-care and business consumers an economical solution that allows them to stay in touch effectively while using their handheld device.”

The Wireless Portfolio (WLN0104) is available for purchase today from Enfora’s web site. The price is $149.

It will be offered through palmOne?s online store as well as through other online retailers, such as Amazon.com, Mobile Planet, and PC Connection.

It will eventually be available at large national retail stores.
