The BlackBerry Pearl 8110 is an updated version of the very popular original Pearl that includes built-in global positioning system (GPS) support. Like all the models in the Pearl series, the 8110 is smaller than most of RIM’s other products, and doesn’t include a full QWERTY keyboard. Instead, it uses this company’s SureType system, in which each key handles two letters. Naturally, it offers the features people have become accustomed to from previous BlackBerries, including support for RIM’s push email system. It comes with an audio and video player, a microSD/SDHC memory slot for additional storage of multimedia files, and a 3.5-mm stereo headset jack. Bluetooth 2.0 support allows it to work with stereo headsets, car kits, and other wireless accessories. It also has a 2-megapixel camera with video recorder.
