  |   by Brighthand Staff

Previous AT&T smartphones running Google’s mobile operating system have been entry-level devices, but the Samsung Captivate is this carrier’s first with cutting-edge features like a WVGA (800 x 480) Super AMOLED display and 16 GB of internal storage. It runs Google’s Android OS 2.1 on a 1 GHz processor, and an upgrade to OS 2.2 has been promised.

  • Pros

    • Awesome screen
    • Long battery life
    • smooth graphics performance
  • Cons

    • Heats up too much
    • Menu/nav buttons occasionally unresponsive
    • Camera images fuzzy for zoomed in images

Quick Take

The Captivate has a lot more going for it than a pretty screen.
