Conclusion

There’s no doubt the iPhone 6s is Apple’s best smartphone yet. The company has taken the already excellent iPhone 6 and improved on it.

3D Touch has the potential to make this and future iOS devices easier to use, although the feature is still in its infancy. And Live Pictures are fun, if a bit gimmicky. More significant is the increase in processor speed, as well as the additional RAM.

The problems with the iPhone 6s are ones that have bedeviled users of Apple’s phones for years: barely adequate battery life, a non-standard charging port, and no inexpensive way to increase the amount of storage.

Value

iPhone6s FeatureViewerThe iPhone 6s with 16GB of storage sells for $649, the 64GB version is $749, and the the 128GB model is $849.

For comparison, Samsung’s roughly equivalent model, the Galaxy S6, sells for $576 and it comes with 32GB of storage but a 5.1-inch display. Samsung’s Galaxy S6 edge 32GB is $672. The larger iPhone 6s Plus 16GB is $749.

What it comes down to is this is a premium device, and like all such it comes at a high price. There are other phones on the market that cost less, but they don’t have the same combination of features  offered by the iPhone 6s. Those looking for a deal might considered a refurbished iPhone 6 for $500.
