This is Part 3 of a multi-part review of the HTC Droid Incredible 2. Part 1 covered the hardware design, while Part 2 covers the performance. There’s also an Image Gallery.

I expected (and wanted) to love the HTC Droid Incredible 2, since the first version of this device has been my such a long-term favorite of mine. In the end I have to say that my feelings come down to intense “like” because there are a lot of things I really like about this phone, but there are also a few issues that I just can’t overlook.

HTC Droid Incredible 2The Incredible 2 has a fantastic camera, it’s small and light, and it’s blazingly fast. However there are some voice issues, and the battery life, while pretty good, isn’t stellar. Add in a slightly disappointing external speaker and annoyingly small buttons and you’ll see how hard it would be to give this model a glowing review. Having said that, however, I know that I’m being exceptionally nitpicky with this phone because it has a really tough act to follow. It’s a worthy successor to the original Incredible, even though I was hoping for more.

  • Extremely thin and light
  • Great speed and responsiveness
  • Nice display

  • Difficult buttons
  • Finicky Wi-Fi setup
  • Some voice quality issues especially outside
  • Disappointing external speaker
  • Slightly disappointing battery life
