HTC One (M8) for Windows

HTC One (M8) for Windows

So who should want an HTC One (M8) for Windows? Well, the same kind of people who would want a Windows Phone in general. Relative to other phones that run Microsoft’s platform, this is one of the top options on the market. It’s still a wonderful piece of machinery, with a great display, fast processor, and best-in-class speakers. It’s also not a Lumia, a rare feat for new devices of its kind. Outside of its so-so camera, it is one of the two most well-rounded phones running its OS.

The problem is that it’s running that OS in the first place. The One (M8) for Windows is a great treat for Windows Phone users, and a good phone in its own right, but it’s hard to recommend unequivocally when we’ve seen it done better already. For the same price as the exceptional Android model, the One (M8) for Windows gives you slightly choppier performance, slightly weaker battery life, a slightly worse camera, and, yes, comparatively handicapped software. As encouraging as the One (M8) for Windows’ existence is, we have to be platform agnostic and say that the standard One (M8) is still the superior choice.
