Those who own the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will soon start seeing a notification saying that Android OS 4.0.4 is available for download.
This is a minor update that includes improvments to screen rotation, the camera software, and switching between apps.
The update will be coming over-the-air, and users will be notified by their devices when it has finished downloaded and is ready to be installed.
While the update isn't a significant one, it is a somewhat controversial one. The GSM-version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus received the 4.0.4 update about a month ago, whereas the Verizon model started seeing the update being rolled out today.
Since the Verizon version of this handset is part of the "Nexus" series, it was supposed to receive OS upgrades as soon as possible. However, the carrier held it up for weeks in extra testing, making those with the device clueless as to why they were left out in the dark until today.
