It seems like the HTC Titan II has become the latest smartphone that can't be purchased because of HTC's ongoing import issue.
AT&T's website currently shows the Titan II as being out of stock, alongside the original HTC Titan. It’s unclear when these Windows Phones will be made available as HTC’s battle with U.S. Customs has no immediate resolution in sight.
In addition, a third AT&T model, the Android-based HTC One X, has been listed as sold out for a week now.
Still, there have been some improvements: Sprint is finally beginning to ship the HTC EVO 4G LTE, which was held up by the same issue.
Apple and ITC
For over a week now, the HTC shipments have been held up by U.S. Customs because of a International Trade Committee ruling made late last year. Every import by HTC has to be checked by Customs agents to be sure they don't infringe on a patent held by Apple, which is delaying shipment to the U.S., causing handsets to be out of stock.
