Garmin Offering New GPS Add-on for Palms
by Ed Hardy -  1/3/2006

Garmin has introduced a new GPS navigation system for Bluetooth-enabled Palm OS devices.

This solution was previously available only for Pocket PCs and laptops.

This package includes navigation software and Garmin's GPS 10, a sensor that receives location data from the Global Positioning System (GPS) and transmits that information to handheld or smartphone with Bluetooth wireless technology.

The GPS 10 has a rechargeable lithium ion battery for up to 12-hours of use and is waterproof.

Included in this package is MapSource City Navigator North America, a Windows application that offers nearly six million points of interest and detailed street-level mapping of the entire U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. Map data is provided by NAVTEQ.

It costs $250.

More information on the GPS 10 can be found on Garmin's web site.
